Sudeten trip and visiting Prague by PL folks
Napsal: 21 bře 2010 17:28
Hi all,
We, as a polish 205 fanclub , are planning a trip to Sudeten mountains (both polish and czech part) and a visit to Prague this summer. Most likely it will take place from 4th till the 8th of August. We'll be probably 100% sure in few weeks when we have everything arranged. Of course, if the weather is exceptionally bad at this time we'll have to reschedule but let's not think about that now - let's be optimistic.
We are expecting over 20 cars from all over Poland to participate in the event.
Here it is an approximated itinerary:
DAY 1 (wednesday evening )
This part of the itinerary is valid for our local Krakow 205 fanclub ( about 10 cars are expected to participate from here, maybe more) . After work (at about 18:00) we're setting off our journey from KRK to the Otmuchowskie lake, near the village Otmuchow. It's not decided where exactly we'll stay, but we'll meet there people from other parts of Poland. We'll set up tents and rest for the following day which will be very eventful.
DAY 2 (thursday)
After the morning swim we go to the place called "Zloty Stok" where we'll visit a gold mine:

Then we'll head in the direction of the "gory stolowe". On our way we'll see the most beautiful waterfall in this part of the mountains:

After a quick glance we'll drive to the road of a hundred corners:

I don't know if there's a non polish description of this piece of alphalt, but this road is a veeery nice place to drive:)
Getting there we leave our cars probably in the village Pasterka and set off on foot to climb a Szczeliniec. After that we come down, pitch tents again and start a bonfire, having a lot of fun:)
DAY 3:
We need to wake up very early and drive ( on the other part of the road of a hundred corners ) to the place called Walim, where is located a Riese project complex. An underground city built by Germans during the second world war:

Next stop is a castle of Książ:

We'll probably not have enough time to visit the inside of the castle, but we may at least have a stop and drink some tee or coffee looking at it from the distance:)
After that we may either go to Jelenia Gora, which is a beautiful city with a marvelous old town, or go directly to the czech republic to visit a safari in the zoo of Dvur Kralove:

We need to find a camping or at least some inhabitated piece of land to pitch our tents and spend the night.
DAY 4:
Taking routes close to the mountains we drive to Cesky Raj, where we admire a great nature for some time and then go to Prague for a final party:) We'll need to find a campsite on the outskirts of Prague to avoid driving to the old town in cars. We'll dring some beers till late at night and then come back to the campsite in some buses if there are any at this time:)
DAY 5:
We come back to Poland at around noon. Which route we'll take we still don't know but it doesn't matter so much I think.
If some of you could join us on our way that would be great! Except our first day, when we drive from KRK to Otmuchowskie lake we'll stay very close to the PL/CZ border, so it should be relatively easy for you to join us at any point during our trip.
Here's the big picture of our whole trip:
I'll let you know some more if we decide the exact itinerary. It should not change much from how it looks now. Maybe you know about some attractions on your side of the border that we cannot miss - please let us know:)
I'm looking forward to hearing from you - what do you think about the idea?
